Has your sea moss gel gone off? What to check

Fresh sea moss gel is perishable. Check your jar’s date and storage instructions—even after opening—and find help if your Millie’s Moss gel seems suspect.

At a glance

Fresh sea moss gel is perishable. For Millie’s Moss gel, check your jar’s date and storage instructions, even after opening. If you have a freshness concern, contact our team with the product and label details.

Ask about a freshness concern, or email support@milliesmoss.com.

Does sea moss gel go bad in the fridge?

Refrigerate Millie’s Moss gel immediately on arrival and keep it refrigerated between uses. Follow the date on your own jar: refrigeration does not start a new shelf-life period.

For the full product guidance, see Storage & Freshness: understanding the date.

How long does sea moss gel last after opening?

Opening the jar does not restart its shelf life. Millie’s Moss measures shelf life from production. Different blends can have different directions, so use your own label rather than another gel’s guidance.

If the date is unclear or you are unsure how the instructions apply to your jar, ask our team before using it.

What should I do if my jar seems suspect?

If your Millie’s Moss gel arrives damaged, leaking, unusually warm or otherwise suspect, do not consume it. Contact our team promptly so they can check the details with you.

Start with the instructions and date on your own jar. An online description of how another gel looks, smells or tastes cannot replace those product-specific directions.

What to send our team

For a concern about your delivery, include:

  • Your order number.
  • The product or blend affected.
  • When the order arrived.
  • The label or batch details.
  • A description of the concern, with photographs where helpful.

If you cannot provide photographs, please still contact us. Explain what you are concerned about so the team can advise you.

Report an order or freshness concern, or email support@milliesmoss.com.

Does freezing fix a concern?

Freezing is part of the storage guidance; it is not a reason to ignore a damaged or suspect arrival. Do not consume the affected gel while asking our team what to do next.

For a general freezing question, use our Storage & Freshness freezing guidance. Gel must be transferred to a suitable freezer-safe container, rather than frozen in its supplied glass jar.

Where to check the next steps

Our team will review the information you provide. If your concern involves an order problem, the Returns & Refunds Help page explains the published policy.
